Danielle Demetriou is a British writer. She moved to Tokyo in 2007 following nine years working on newspapers in London, including The Independent, Evening Standard and Daily and Sunday Telegraph.
She is currently a Japan correspondent for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph and formerly a Tokyo correspondent for Monocle magazine. She has contributed news, lifestyle, design and travel articles to an array of publications including Conde Nast Traveller, Wall Street Journal, Kinfolk, Modern Farmer, ICON, Amuse, Centurion, Departures, Sydney Morning Herald, Casa da abitare, ARTnews, The Guardian, Marie Claire etc.
Danielle is also the Japan Destination Expert for the Daily Telegraph and has regular columns in the Japan Times and the Mainichi Weekly News. She regularly writes features for in-flight magazines, editorial for five-star hotels such as the Mandarin Oriental, the Conrad and the Ritz-Carlton plus travel guides including Seasonal Cities, the Luxe City Guide and A Hedonist's Guide. She has also undertaken copywriting projects for design offices, hotels, tourism offices and the luxury carmaker Lexus / Winkreative.
Her photography has been published in the Japan Times, The National, the Daily Telegraph and several Tokyo guidebooks.
